Phone Game Application: Elevate

BY AMIRY FAHMI

In this technologically driven world, we are living in an age of convenience where acquiring knowledge and education is right in front of our doorstep. In fact, the more technologically advanced we get, the less we try to use it to optimal potential.
Elevate, an educational game on IOS, is a game that educates us the realm of basic knowledge in everyday life. It is a phone game application that inculcate skills such as listening, writing, speaking, reading and mathematics. What’s more intriguing is that this beneficial yet convenient game is free of charge, however, for additional games, charges will be applied.
The way this game work is simple. Each skill will be tested appropriately based on the level of the participant – everyone will be asked questions early on to determine the level of their attributes.
Each day, a person can ONLY learn or improve three skills that will randomly be given. From each skill thrown at us in one particular day, the person will be given stars ranging from 1 – 3. Based on the final result, the person will be analysed and given stars in correlation to their performance. For example, the listening game, participants will listen to a descriptive story told by a narrator, and questions will be asked after and during the game to test their listening skill. Questions such as their name, age, occupation, clothing materials (colour, materials, type), appearance and etc. Thus, concentration and focus is truly required.
Why play the game? Well, for a game of such simplicity and benefits, it is crucial for our development in our basic skills in our daily life. In my opinion, this is by far the best game I have ever downloaded, partly due to its impact on me: I learn.
Other strategic, unamusing and non-beneficial games that only provide entertainment rather than education is nothing compared to Elevate. That is just my honest opinion.
What’s there to waste? It is free, and it is entertaining yet educational.
Sure, some if not the majority of us will say it is ‘boring’, but as technology gets more evolved and advanced, educational games and technology increases and is more convenient and easy. Thus, shouldn’t we be prioritizing our time to these accessibility rather than ignoring it like a plastic paper blowing in the wind?

Hence, I recommend you to try this game (only if you use iPhone!) because you will learn and improve a lot more basic skills than you will ever imagine. Seize the day and seize the opportunity.
